Key Priorities

CROWCROFT PARK 2025/26

DEVELOPING PEOPLE

We have created a large leadership structure with the explicit purpose of developing the quality of teaching and learning in every classroom because we know that this is what will make the biggest difference to pupil outcomes – people are our most valuable resource. Direct training, team teaching, coaching and monitoring progress is the number one priority for our Assistant Heads and EYFS TLR.

PROVISION FOR SEND

Developing our dedicated SEND environments (The Orchard, The Glade, The Lighthouse and The Nest) as well as the teams and curriculum within each is a key priority this year. We also aim to embed B-Squared as our main approach to assessing children with complex SEND. Adaptive teaching and the effective use of One Page Profiles and Individual Learning Plans within the classroom remains a priority. We will also focus on developing team understanding of SEMH and ASD/ADHD needs.

AN OUTSTANDING CURRICULUM

Our Big Ideas curriculum approach was introduced last year. Embedding this approach, including the addition of - Executive Functioning, Learning Behaviours, Oracy and Zones of Regulation – is a key focus this year. Early Years will also be introducing an updated curriculum and developing environments. We will also be introducing a new Whole Child curriculum. There will be a sharp focus on developing Writing (including handwriting and spelling) and speeding up the progress made as pupils move from RWI phonics to Steps to Read comprehension in KS1. We will also be introducing an Oracy focus through Word Aware and Stories for Talking.

PARENTAL ENGAGEMENT

Supporting our children and families to be healthy and well remains of key importance and additional staffing is in place to achieve this. This year a new focus will be on engaging parents with education; particularly attendance (particularly in EYFS and KS1) and reading at home. It is vital that our families play an active role in giving children the very best chance to achieve.

A DIGITAL VISION

We are introducing a new curriculum for Computing this year. In addition, we need to look ahead to develop an approach to Artificial Intelligence and consider our digital strategy to support pupils to flourish in the modern, ever changing world.

ACCOUNTABILITY & COMPLIANCE

In order to achieve our ambitious goals in a small LA school, each member of the team must be responsible and accountable for the measurable success of their role.
